an empty bliss beyond this world

Sometimes music has the ability to bring back memories-a longing for a past event that for some reason you have not been able to let go. Caretaker’s album, An Empty Bliss Beyond This World, does just that for me. There was a moment in Paris where we took cover under scaffolding-finding safety from the downpour that had begun shortly before. Within a few minutes something happened under that scaffolding. The thought of being soaked from the rain and being stuck suddenly vanished. I became more entranced at the shades of the clouds, the rain flowing across the street, and the quietness that had come over the city.

Take me back.

libet’s delay

camaraderie at arms length

mental caverns without sunshine

the sublime is disappointingly elusive
